Valentines Day Wine Pick
As a wine buyer, I get to try so many wines, sometimes it's hard to keep track, however we do have a few wines that we've had aging on our table for the year or two. Although it's fun to try new stuff, sometimes it's great to drink a favorite. For Valentines day we decided to drink 2007 Righteous Red from Sweet Valley Wines in Walla Walla, WA. I love this wine because it's affordable ($12), yet has depth to it. This wine is a bit young and can benefit from being opened a few hours early. It had been a year since I first had this wine and it has started to round out rough edges and become a more elegant wine. This wines has a lot of bright fruit, bing cherries and raspberries with a hint of white pepper complimented with the oaky finish. This wine pairs perfectly with free range chicken marsala. We as a couple give this wines a thumbs up, especially for the price! I have not found this wine in stores, I myself order it online from their website (they were very helpful) so I've provided the link to the winery. Enjoy!
